"A message from Bev and Steve"

Back to Maria Studios this year, 2010, our third stay with the Poulimas family. As usual we were greeted by Katerina and Yiannis, with huge smiles, greetings and hugs, which made us feel immediately like we had come home. also greeted by Spiros (Dad and barbecue king) with his huge welcoming smile and Maria (Mum, the wonderful cook) and of course the lovely kids.

The rooms were as always, bright and clean, and the pool and poolbar well looked after with a lovely relaxing atmosphere by day. And by night, courteous service, good food and of course entertainment from Yiannis, usually at the expense of one or more of the regulars, (who of course know how to take Yiannis and his sense of humour). And I might add, he can take the banter as well as give it, and will apologise if he thinks he may have offended. Paleo itself for those of you looking for your first visit, is by far the most beautiful place on the island, with five bays and a quiet, relaxing, laid back atmosphere, for a getaway from it all holiday.

The studios are well placed in Paleo. With a walk in either direction, along the road, you come across friendly bars and good restaurants to take in a drink or two with or without a snack or meal, the bus stop across the road, to take you to Corfu town, or even a quick trip down to the main beach. Alternatively, as we do, walk around Paleo and get to meet the locals, always polite and happy to help with anything.

Thank you for a great holiday once again and looking after me so well when I was a bit under the weather, Doctors' Katerina and Yiannis to the rescue, and a big hello and thanks to all the new friends we made this year.

"TEN DAYS OF HEAVEN!!!!!"

Arrived on a sunny day, mid afternoon, greeted by Katerina, shown upstairs to a lovely room with beautiful views. Explained my husband had health problems and was told that i could take breakfast up to our room if necessary, what a lovely offer, but we managed fine using there brilliant poolside bar!!!!
Yiannis and all his family are lovely, some say he is loud, but he knows when to treat his guests with respect, which was certainly shown to us, this helped us have a lovely relaxing holiday. Yes, he likes to persuade you to eat at his restaurant, but this certainly wasnt a problem because the food was first class, Mama is an excellent cook, you can watch her, peek at the dishes cooking, nothing was too much trouble. We shall hopefully visit again, we met some really lovely people, they have a lot of guests who return time after time. We didnt move far from the apartments, that was our choice, but it is ideally placed for easy access to corfu town with a bus stop opposite. Thank you for a brilliant holiday!!!

"Excellent experience, would definitely go back"

We had a lovely time in this family run hotel, in July 2010. Nice rooms, not luxurious, but nicely put together, also with aircon and fridge and kitchen/cooking facilities; tasty local and international flavours at the hotel's relaxing restaurant, very good bar staying late, a very nice and really clean pool, and in a very good location on the main road in Palaiocastritsa. Quizzes and bbq nights were also organised, in a really nice atmosphere, with excellent service in a relaxing environment; the best thing was that one could interact with the other customers (families and couples mostly) as much as one wished. The best experience was the service, the owners were just 'in tune' doing the right thing and sorting out every little detail. My husband and myself, alongside our three teenagers (13, 16, 19) we all had a fab time. If back in Corfu, we are not staying anywhere else!
