Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa is situated on the west coast of Corfu island. It is approximately 20 kilometres from Corfu International Airport and is considered an area of outstanding natural beauty. Regarded by many as one of the world's most beautiful places, Paleokastritsa is set against a mountainous backdrop and stretches for about 1km along the coastline.

Lakones

Lakones is a traditional Greek village on the mountain overlooking Paleokastrista. There are two options to get there, the old donkey track (not for the feint hearted) or by the long, winding road. If you do decide to take the donkey track, be sure to wear good footwear as the terrain isn't the best. It's quite tiring walking up there in the heat, but it's definitely worth it when you see the absolutely stunning views. Once in the village, it's definitely worth having a drink in the bakery. It sounds a bit bizarre, however the bakery sells drinks & you can sit on the balcony out back, with some of the best views in Corfu. If you have towels with you, feel free to walk along to the Golden Fox which boasts a pool bar, again with amazing views.
